LIFE!

At Finger Lakes Chiropractic our lasting purpose is to serve our community by helping our patients and their families achieve and maintain optimal health naturally, without drugs, without surgery by correcting subluxations.
Chiropractic check ups are important at all stages of life especially infants and children. The birth process and the first two years of life can be the most traumatic time of our lives. Fixing issues then is much easier and beneficial than suffering with health problems for years afterward. The best source of research, articles and information on children and Chiropractic can be found on the website of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).     icpa4Kids.org

About Dr. Stahl

My parents incorporated Chiropractic into their lifestyle for as long I can remember. They brought me with them every week to get checked by the Chiropractor. My parents would take me to the Chiropractor when I was healthy and made extra trips when I was sick. I remember when I had chicken pox they made me go to the Chiropractor to make sure my immune system was as strong as possible. I was about ten years old when I said I wanted to be a Chiropractor when I grow up.

I studied biology and chemistry at Oneonta State which got me through all the prerequisite classes for Chiropractic school. I played soccer and volleyball during those four years.

In college I separated my shoulder snowboarding and after a few months it still wasn’t healing. I went to my Chiropractor during a school break and he found a Subluxation in my lower neck. He reminded me about where the healing power comes from and how a Subluxation affects the nervous system and that power. He was completely correct that the body is a self healing and self regulating organism as long as there is no interference. I found a Chiropractor in Oneonta and after just a few of weeks of care my shoulder was much better and I was playing volleyball in the club again.

Chiropractic school was an adventure. A five year program condensed into three and a third years. One trimester I was taking 28 credits of classes. I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Still, after over twenty years in practice I am constantly amazed by how well the human body thrives when it is able to function at its highest potential. Chiropractic releases that potential. Chiropractic allows the body to heal damaged spinal discs and joints. Chiropractic allows the body to brain and brain to body communication to occur without interference. This gives kids the freedom from bedwetting, headache sufferers the freedom from the chronic pounding, those with irritable bowel syndrome relief from the relentless cramping. I’ve seen many different conditions improve or clear up after making corrections to the spine and nervous system.

I now keep busy in the office helping others maintain their active lifestyles. Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. We get in whatever outdoor adventures we can. I compete in observed motorcycle trials events. I still play volleyball a couple times a week in various leagues and find coaching youth soccer and club volleyball extremely rewarding.

We all appreciate good health. We know that something is wrong when we have symptoms. It is also important when we don’t have symptoms to get checked to continue to enjoy that higher level of health and happiness. I encourage everyone to get checked by a Chiropractor to see if there is anything that might dim your sparkle.

Definitions of Chiropractic:

A system of therapy which holds that disease results from a lack of normal nerve function and which employs manipulation and specific adjustment of body structures (as the spinal column).
- Meriam-Webster
A system of diagnosis and treatment based on the concept that the nervous system coordinates all of the body's functions, and that disease results from a lack of normal nerve function. Chiropractic employs manipulation and adjustment of body structures, such as the spinal column, so that pressure on nerves coming from the spinal cord due to displacement (subluxation) of a vertebral body may be relieved.
- MedicineNet
The system which utilizes the recuperative powers of the body and the relationship between the musculoskeletal structures and functions of the body, particularly of the spinal column and the nervous system, in the restoration of health.
- Stedman's Medical Dictioary
A system of complementary medicine based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints, especially those of the spinal column which are held to cause other desorders by affecting the nerves, muscles, and organs.
- Oxford Dictonaries
